A Brasileira on your passport

Júlio Pomar, widely known today as a neo-realist painter, was one of the most prestigious Portuguese artists in modernist painting. He painted the panel “Contos Murais” at the Beer Museum in Lisbon and the graffiti featuring historical characters at Alto dos Moinhos station on the Lisbon Metropolitan subway network. Júlio Pomar is also the creator of the graffiti that appears in official Portuguese passports, portraying three “Fernando Pessoas” sitting at an iconic six-sided table at A Brasileira do Chiado, chatting to each other – a truly Pessoan conversation!
