Fado do 31

In the 1920s, Lisbon’s popular figures frequented cafés and it was jokingly said that national life revolved around a cup. A Brasileira do Chiado was often a scene of heated debates, some of which descended into fistfights involving cups and chairs being thrown around. Almada Negreiros and José de Bragança featured in one of these scenes, following a discussion on the order of the panels exposed. Maria Victoria immortalized this moment in the famous Fado do 31, having sung this fado wearing a hat and male attire.
