Orpheu Magazine
Created in 1915 at the tables of A Brasileira do Chiado by important names in literature and the arts: Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá-Carneiro, Almada Negreiros and Santa-Rita Pintor, Orpheu was a literature and publishing magazine; only two quarterly issues were ever published due to difficulties in financing the ongoing project. Despite this, the magazine had a remarkable and lasting influence: its modernist avant-garde stance inspired subsequent literary movements that renewed Portuguese literature.
